So what have I been up to?

Apart from work, work and more work?? Well not alot really. Went to Rob's 30th a couple of months ago. Been half heartedly trying to plan my own 30th, which is ages away still so no rush. It will be fancy dress though, so if anyone has any theme ideas, let me know. Went to Soul Survivour's Christmas ball which was good - got a blue light taxi there and a lift from Clarke Carlisle, captian of WFC, home. Had a really good chat with him about religion actually when we both went for a ciggie during the evening. I've also been on 3 Eurogamer meets now too - the most recent of which can be seen here and here. You can read all about it here. And that's about it really.

This Christmas we're going back to the Horns for Clone Roses on Christmas eve. I'm spending Christmas with family and my baby niece, Sophie, for her 1st Christmas. I've signed up for 2 double bubble overtime shifts over christmas too, so come the end of January I should be a wealthy woman! Working New Years Eve too, but for no extra money. :( I'm planning to celebrate New year on New Year's Day. If you'd like to join me, again, let me know!

Could say that about a lot of things, but I mean since my last proper blog entry!!

Not sure if I have any new news though - life just keeps ticking over. Had a lot of time out of the office recently with leave and courses and stuff, but I'm now back at work til V (unless they decide I can have the 23rd July off for the SS summer ball). Only holidays this year I'm seriously considering at the moment is a long weekend on the cheap in Berlin with Mark, Kev and whoever else visiting Adam and maybe a trip to the family holiday home which is in the process of being converted to a large 4 bed, 3 bath 10 minutes walk from the beach (if anyone's interested in coming, let me know).

As some of you know, it's my 30th next year. The plan is to celebrate in style in Florida and Nassau!! I have a luxury trip to take for 2 to 4 people.

But only for a week then I'm off up to the west mids for a course!! Although I'm a little sick of living in hotels already!!

Conference was very good. Very interesting debates. Got loads of free stuff too from all the exhibitors. Hundreds of pens!! LOL!! I also went to the Dr Who exhibition in Blackpool (unfortunately all the current series stuff that was meant to be installed by Thursday afternoon, but had been postponed a week) and went to see Funny Girls on Thursday night (a fantastic drag queen cabaret show or as the ticket says "The internationally acclaimed Burlesque Showbar"). It was one of the best stage shows I've ever seen and I highly recommend it!! Certainly the best thing in Blackpool!! Hotel wasn't bad and the food was nice. Think I've put on weight from it all though - fried breakfasts and 3 course dinners!!

TKD training camp should have been hard going for me seeing as I've not been for 6 months, but it wasn't that bad! We did 4 sessions training over 2 days. Saturday afternoon's session involved a 2 mile run to the beach in the rain followed by training and games on the beach, for which the sun came out. Managed to avoid being thrown in the sea for the 2nd year in a row! Just made it back to the chalet before a massive thunder storm and the sky's opening up. Unfortunately not everyone was as lucky!! There were quite a few coming back soaked to the skin!! Saw Hicthhikers guide to the galaxy last night at Butlins cinema. Was very good!! Well worth seeing again!

Anyway, I'm relieved to be home as I'm knackered with all these late nights drinking!! A special thank you to Mike for loaning me his portable DVD - it was very handy - and to Mark for Cowboy Bebop.

Not sure if it's worth unpacking my bag though . . .

Just a quick update to let you know what's going on.

I am still lodgerless and am now desperately in need of one!! Anyone know someone who's looking to rent?

I'm off to Fed Conference in Blackpool next Monday (maybe even Sunday if I drive up a day early for the Women's rep meeting). I'll be coming back Friday to switch bags and then drive off to Skegness for Tae kwon do Summer training camp!! It's a very busy week!! If anyone has a portable entertainment system (e.g. lap top with DVD, MP3 player or old gamboy) they'd like to lend me for the coach journey to and from Blackpool I'd be most greatful as it's gonna be a 5 hour journey and I can't read without getting travel sick (and the thought of talking to my colleagues for 5 hours makes me feel kind of sick too!!).

By the way Mr Rudd, won't be there tomorrow as I'm working til 10pm.

Birthday plans update

6.30pm - At mine for a glass or two of bubbly
7.30pm - At Bodega's for a few drinks and to meet the others
8.30pm - Nandos for dinner
After Nandos, off to that newish bar with a russian name where the Pane and Table used to be.

I would appreciate knowing if you're coming and haven't already let me know.

These plans are subject to change as I'm off work sick, but hopefully should be better by Saturday.

If you don't already know, my birthday's coming up on 21st April. As it's a week day I'm planning a night out in Watford on Saturday 23rd April. This will be a meal at Nando's, off the Party Menu (min 10 people), and then off for some drinks at bodegas or something. The evening is open to all, afterall the more the merrier!! If you would like to come along, please let me know ASAP so I can book either by e-mail or leaving a note in the comments section below.

For a select few, I may have a reception at home early evening before we go out, as I have a magnum of Asti at home, like last year.

So, I'm back from Rome. I had a great time in my 5 star luxury!! Photos will follow in due course.

I worked yesterday and am off today and tomorrow. Then I'm off to work Watford Town Centre at the weekend, as is the bastard responsible for my time off. Great planning by logistics as usual!! By the way, I'm bringing the Wednesday night film . . . it's a bit of a drama, a bit of an action movie, a tiny bit rom com, it's incredibly fashionable , very, very camp with a minute hint of porn!

For those of you who didn't get a text from me, my SIM card's a tad screwed and I'm not getting phone calls or texts a lot of the time. Until I get a replacement SIM card I will be using my work mobile. I did try to send a load of texts saying so, but my phone only let me send one or two before freaking out. So if you need to contact me, ask Mr Rudd, Mr Pettifer or Mr Vince for my work number, as I believe their messages made it through. Could also be worth watching on ITV tonight too, just to see Matt Lucas and David Walliams present Robbie Williams with his award as Gary Barlow and Howard from Take That. Robbie went on to thank "his new boyfriend" Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) who recently said Robbie was gay in an interview. Also keep an eye out for the star who greeted their Brit assistant for the evening saying "Can You make me really happy? I want 4ozs of weed" which the assistant got for them - apparrently very obvious they've been having a smoke when the perform!!

Alex from Franz Fredinand said, when collecting one of their awards, that it was a long way from Glasgow. He continued that he would walk 500 miles and he would walk 500 more to win their Brits . . . .

Today was my first day in my new job as Meridian Ward Officer and it was GREAT!! Seems like I made the right choice in moving. Especially as I've found out there maybe some big changes at the old place in the not so distant future.

Secondly, ny lodger, Chris, is moving out in March. His best mate and some other friends have found a place to share and want him to join them, as originally planned. He has offered to keep paying me, though, until his contract is up or I find someone new, which ever comes first. So if anyone needs a place to live, or knows of anyone looking, get in touch with me. That's if I need a lodger though, as, come April, I might be able to go it alone!! Not decided what to do yet!

What I've been up to

I've been told I've not been posting enough, so here's what I've been up to.

Watching Charmed double bills on Living everyday! Today's is really funny as Cole, who's become an invincble demon, is trying to commit sucide . . . .
Monday I went to Top Golf for 4 hours - played 5 games and 2 rounds of putting. Went to Salsa with Clare and Pat in the evening.
Tuesday, I did something, but I can't remember what!!
Wednesday, movie night. Inferrno then Max and Paddy followed by the disappearing/reappearing cat in my hallway when I got home.
Thursday - that'll be today and I'll be seeing Terror at the Opera at some point, otherwise I have no plans.

Next week I'm off to the Mean Fiddler with Mark and Mike to see Fozzy! A night with Y2J!!! HOORAY!!

Also next week, I move Stations as I join North Watford.

Back in December, whilst clearing a ladder out of the road outside the nick with one of our Firemen neighbor's, he invited me to the Valentines Disco at the Fire station on 12th Feb and to put the word around work, which I kind of did. Pudding anyone?

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a resturant devoted entirely to selling desserts? And even nicer if they did take outs and deliveries?

"Hi, yes. I'd like to order a vanilla cheesecake and a bottle of sweet, dessert wine please, for delivery!!"

How wonderful would that be?? I've seen the Restaurant/Cafe/Take Away part of it work in San Francissco, but would it work round here? Would you frequent it if one was near you?

All ideas and opinions greatly appreciated.

Ideally I'd make this a reality. Put together a consortium of whoever wants to join, approach a bank and see what we can do. And if you know any rich investor types who'd like to offer backing, great! Anyone interested?

FI 2005!

So what's the plan for the new year?

Learn to play golf
Improve my Tae Kwon Do
Get back to my first passion - writing
Stop wasting time with no good wastes of spaces
Become the best Auntie in the world
Make more home cooked meals

Give up smoking really ought to be on there too, but I'm not going make any promises . . . yet!

So is there anything else I should do this year? All suggestions will be carefully considered!!
